Home Economics helps to raise a healthy nation through good food and nutrition, clothing and body care. It helps the nation to reduce poverty, crime, prostitution and other vices associated with youths. This is because its knowledge provides many jobs for youths who are qualified and interested to work. The Home Economics track offers various specializations that can lead to livelihood projects at home. This strand aims to give you job-ready skills that can help you in finding the right employment.
From here, the course teaches you various skills, including barbering, bartending, beauty and pastry production, fashion design, hairdressing and tourism promotion. Triggers thinking and action to create change. Students learn how critical and reflective thinking about current social issues contributes to informed choices about food and nutrition and enables optimum health. By taking health-promoting actions, students learn to: live full, healthy, and satisfying lives.
Home economics also teaches students how to be savvy consumers. It helps students learn how to budget and spend their money wisely. This class teaches things that teens, who are growing into adulthood, should utilize in their everyday life, like patience, attentiveness, situational awareness, etc.
